Mechanical Designer

Job Purpose:

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for supporting the overall mechanical design on a project and handling drafting tasks using AutoCAD or Revit. This role involves collaboration with mechanical staff and coordination with other disciplines and external consultants to ensure complete and accurate design documentation.

Key Areas of Expertise:

This position requires a basic understanding of HVAC load analysis, ductwork and piping design, the selection and design of appropriate HVAC equipment, plumbing systems design, and light involvement in construction administration processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Designer will assist in the preparation of design documents that align with company standards, coordinate the completion of deliverables to allow time for QA/QC review before deadlines, and support construction administration tasks such as submittal reviews.

Qualifications & Continuing Education:

Ideal candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to collaborate with other disciplines within the firm and with consultants, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

Continuing education is not required.

Working Conditions:

This position may require occasional night and weekend work to meet critical project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be able to carry up to 50 pounds of drawings and climb ladders as needed.
