Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Graduate Mechanical Engineer assists in the overall mechanical design of a project and is responsible for drafting tasks using AutoCAD or Revit. This role works in collaboration with other mechanical staff during the design and documentation process and helps coordinate the mechanical design with all other disciplines and external sub-consultants to ensure a cohesive and complete project delivery.

Key Areas of Expertise:

This position requires progressive understanding of HVAC load analysis, ductwork and piping design, the design and selection of appropriate HVAC equipment, plumbing systems design, and entry-level involvement in construction administration activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Graduate Mechanical Engineer supports the preparation of design documents in accordance with company standards, coordinates document completion to allow for QA/QC review prior to project deadlines, and assists with standard construction administration duties such as submittal reviews.

Qualifications & Continuing Education:

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and have approximately 0 to 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, demonstrate leadership potential, and work well with both internal design teams and external consultants.

Continuing education is not required.

Working Conditions:

This position may require occasional night and weekend work to meet critical project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be able to carry up to 50 pounds of drawings and climb ladders as needed.
