Graduate Electrical Engineer
Job Purpose:
The Graduate Electrical Engineer supports the overall electrical design on a project and is responsible for drafting using AutoCAD or Revit. This role works closely with other electrical staff during the design and documentation process and coordinates with all other disciplines and external sub-consultants to ensure a fully integrated electrical design.
Key Areas of Expertise:
This position requires progressive understanding of electric load calculation and analysis of building systems, lighting and lighting controls, power distribution systems for both normal and emergency conditions, and fire alarm systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Graduate Electrical Engineer assists in the preparation of design documents that meet company standards, coordinates the timely completion of those documents to allow for QA/QC review prior to project deadlines, and supports standard construction administration duties such as submittal reviews.
Qualifications & Continuing Education:
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and have approximately 0 to 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, demonstrate leadership potential, and work well with both internal teams and external consultants.
Continuing education is not required.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional night and weekend work to meet critical project deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to carry up to 50 pounds of drawings and climb ladders as needed.
