Electrical Designer

Job Purpose:

The Electrical Designer is responsible for assisting in the overall electrical design of a project and performing drafting tasks using AutoCAD or Revit. This role involves collaborating with other electrical staff to support the documentation of the electrical system and coordinating with all other disciplines and external sub-consultants to ensure a fully integrated design.

Key Areas of Expertise:

This position requires a basic understanding of electric load calculation and analysis of building systems, lighting and lighting controls, power distribution systems (normal and emergency), and fire alarm systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Electrical Designer assists in the preparation of design documents in accordance with company standards, coordinates the timely completion of deliverables to allow for QA/QC review, and supports standard construction administration duties such as submittal reviews.

Qualifications & Continuing Education:

The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate strong leadership potential, and work effectively with other disciplines within the firm and external consultants.

Continuing education is not required.

Working Conditions:

This position may require occasional night and weekend work to meet critical project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be able to carry up to 50 pounds of drawings and climb ladders as needed.
